Now it is organised at hotel, restaurants, and wedding places. The members, relatives of both bide, and bridegroom’s family attend in the ceremony.

A groom wears a haori on the top and a hakama on the bottom, all in black. The bride usually changes into different kimonos up to five times during the wedding day. Some Japanese brides wear wigs as part of the tradition of the kimono wedding dress. The wig is heavily decorated in artificial flowers, gold combs, and pearls. I love Sakura

After 3 month continuous snowing and cold, the tree is getting life. The flower has started before leaves, with the spirit of warms. It just like wake up of nature from deep sleep. This is my first time seeing cherry blossom (sakura), is Japan’s unofficial national flower. My Japanese fried has said, if you see the beauty of Sakura perhaps you do not want to go back to Bangladesh; you would say, this is my homeland! In a family party on of my relatives have told me, under cherry blossom drinking wine just like a heaven!

Now I am waiting to see the Sakura. Every afternoon I visit the park with my wife and children . Now, Sakura is starting. My wife has said – this time whole japan becomes “country of flower” with various kinds of cherry blossoms. People drink, eat, and sing during the day and night. It is like a picnic. It generally starts middle of April. The cherry blossom viewing is known as hanami. It has been celebrated since 7th century and takes a very prominent position in Japanese culture. Cherry blossoms take position as national flower of Japan.

Sengamori mountain , Fukushima

I have joined in the mountain climbing festival with community members of Iino organised by local NPO. Every year they organise to overcome the tiredness of cold and preparation to receive Sakura. The slogan of the festivals was `we love forest` which coughed my heart. Together with all age peoples I climbed the mountain `Sengamori` which is 576 meters, embraces the Fukushima town by limbs . We have walked through the deep forest and observed the flora, natural beauty along with Japanese culture. I was impressed to see that, in Bangladesh we empower by nationalism, feel comfortable say this is Bangladeshi. However, Japanese feel comfortable to say this is global!

Yesterday, I first saw Japanese priest and religious ceremony. Before I have thought, developed Japanese might not follow the religious traditions, as heard before! Nevertheless, they follow just like us. The climbing ceremony was started by praying and opening ceremony in Sentu Shrine. During the long pray and conditions, the young were getting tired of, but aged people felt inner peace freedom by meeting God. After three hours climbing, we were tired of and gradually reached the top of mountain. From the crest to see the whole Fukushima city, I was impressed. How beautiful this mountainous nature is! I am impressed to see Japanese hospitality, everybody takes care me, and many persons give me food and exchange the greetings at top. Even though most cannot speak English, but try to say with me something and feel pride after taking cafe and food, had been delivered NPO again start to down with relax.

The Samurai, the spirit of Japan

1.
The Samurai has been the most popular TV serial in Japan since 2005 at Fuji Terivi. Even though, I cannot understand Japanese language perfectly but I also watch it everyday. I am impressed to see the power of sword to establish ethics, morality, and good governance.

Japanese warriors, Samurai were famous members of the military class in ancient Japanese society. They were supposed to lead their lives according to the ethics code of bushido (“the way of the warrior”). Strongly Confucian in nature, Bushido stressed concepts such as loyalty to one’s master, self-discipline and respectful, ethical behaviors. They employed a range of weapons such as bows and arrows, spears and guns, but never attack from backside. The braves were attendant of king and life devoted for absolute love, absolute faith, and obedience. There was a ritual, after defeat they did commuted suicide (seppuku) by cutting abdomen rather than being captured or dying a dishonorable death.
The samurai system was continuing since Heian Period (794-1185) to Edo Period (1603 – 1868).

According to the Edo Period’s official hierarchy of social castes, the samurai stood at the top, followed by the farmers, artisans, and merchants. All samurai were forced to live in castle towns and received income from their lords in form of rice. Masterless samurai was called ronin and caused minor troubles during the early Edo Period. In 1868, Japan’s feudal era ended, and the samurai class was abolished. True Samurai systems yet respect by Japanese, and glorify in cultural events for their honesty and devotion.

Global Citizen Festival, Fukushima, Japan

6th March was the “Fukushima Global Citizen Festival, 2005” in Koriama Big Parato Centre. It is a big community gathering in which motto of the festival is – “Citizen of Earth: what we could do now”. We, the team from Iino also have joined in the festival.

Including JICA forty-three NPO and youth organizations have displayed their work, activities and caliber for serving the world people and embrace the world culture. Some centers collect donation by selling folk and indigenous products of developing countries for those children education and poverty alleviation. I was very surprised to see Japanese people’s generosity to “tsunami” effected countries’ especially to the children of Sri Lanka. There was 11 countries food restaurant, served individual country’s food and test with Japanese team. I personally have looked for Bangladesh or Indian food as I was missing longtime to eat Bangladeshi test. At last, I have got a Pakistani shop where an Indian also was selling. I ate one chapatti and chicken tikka but price is very high, 450 yen! During eating I touch the price – this food price in Bangladesh only 30-40 taka (60 – 80 yen)!

I have got prices by lottery and brought “South Asian spice” (turmeric, cardamom-cinnamon power) in order to cook Bangladeshi curry in house. Even though very high price but I am happy to get at last South Asian spice in Fukushima.

To unite with world culture, I took instant photo in the Global Youth Organisation’s mobile studio by wearing Arabian dress. After enjoying youth performance on different countries dance and music performance in Global Citizen stage, I took tea JICA’s centre. During drinking tea, I have met and took photo with a person who was three years Bangladesh. Fluently spoke Bangla. He has said, “We are very grateful to the World as Japanese food mostly comes from around the world. You are taking South African’s tea, with Hong Kong’s sweat and American Milk! During eat we don’t live in Japan, we live in the world….”. I am very relief to sea Japanese people humbleness and embracing world culture. My realization, Japanese people may dominant the world with more dignity by loving and serving, if they continue their divine views.
