I am again impressed to see the ‘Hinamatsuri’ which is one of most popular cultural festival held every year in japan.
‘Hinamatsuri’ is a popular cultural festival in Japan held every year on 3 March. Hina means doll and matsuri means festival. Literally, ‘Hina Matsuri’ known as ‘Doll’s Day Festival foreigners. Japanese wish growth and happiness to young girl in this day. The set of ornamental dolls (雛人形 Hina-Ningyo) on red carpet which represent the Emperor, Empress, attendants, and musicians with traditional court dress of the Heian period.( 794 to 1185 ). Although 3 March is actual festival day but dolls, displaying starts from end of February.
In the doll arrange platform, the top tier holds two dolls known as imperial dolls (内裏雛 (だいりびな) Dairi-Bina ). The second tier holds three court women San-nin Kanjo (三人官女). The third tier holds five male musicians Gonin Bayashi (五人囃子). In the fourth platform, two ministers (udaijin and sadaijin), in rights side set young Minister Udaijin and on Left senior minister Sadaijin. On the sixth and seventh tiers, a variety of miniature furniture, tools, carriages, etc.
The theme song of Hinamatsuri lips song, which is known as “Ureshii Hinamatsuri (Happy Hinamatsuri). Mother generally sing this song for making sleep of baby, just like a folk song. It was written by famous composer Sato Hachiro ( 1903-1973)
